How to use the NeuroAffective Relational Model to treat addiction
Maya Vaughan is the founder director of the Trauma Training Institute (TTI) UK, set up to offer professional training courses to mental health practitioners across the UK and Ireland in NARM® – believed to be the most comprehensive and precise model for working with the impact of painful childhood experiences on our capacity to lead healthy fulfilling lives.
She is an associate member of the British Emotionally Focused Therapy Centre, The International Centre for Excellence in Emotionally Focused Therapy and The Complementary Medical Association.
Her desire to understand what leads to dysfunctional relationships and what is needed to restore emotional connection, led her to study and train extensively in some of the most successful models in couples and relational therapy including Dr Heller’s NeuroAffective Relational Model and Dr Sue Johnsons Emotionally Focused Therapy. She integrates both these approaches in her work to support emotional safety, self-awareness, and authentic connection. As a licensed holistic body therapist with over 25 years experience, she is also “fascinated” by the mind-body connection and the importance of embodied healing.
*Developed by Dr Laurence Heller, NARM – the NeuroAffective Relational Model – is a groundbreaking clinical model for addressing developmental and complex trauma. It invites psychotherapists, counsellors and mental health professionals to dive deeper into this transformative clinical approach.
