Sex addiction, sex offending & safeguarding

Sex and porn addiction is a growing problem and one that is increasingly presenting in a variety of different settings. Whilst many therapists and services continue to refer to specialist organisation for treatment, this does not resolve the challenge of what to do if someone discloses offending behaviours during assessment.  Many people with compulsive sexual behaviours ‘cross the line’ into offending as part of the escalation process and this presentation will provide some guidance on what to do when that happens..

Learning objectives: At the end of this presentation, delegates will be able to:

  • Give others a fuller understanding of sex offending behaviours and the law
  • Develop tools to identify risk factors between online and offline offending
  • Describe our responsibilities to the client and to society.
